Professor David Kevin Imagawa
Professor and Chief, Division of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery / Islet Cell Transplantation, University of California, Irvine Medical Center (UCI), Orange, CA
Prof. David Kevin Imagawa is a leading surgeon in the field of hepatobiliary and pancreas surgery. He is the Chief of the Division of Hepatobiliary and Pancreas Surgery / Islet Cell Transplantation at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) Medical Center.
Prof. Imagawa is exceptionally skilled in surgery for liver, pancreas, bile ducts, and gallbladder cancers. In addition, he is an expert in islet cell transplantation.
Prof. Imagawa is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including a Lifetime Achievement Award. His professional affiliations include membership in the American Surgical Association and the American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association.
Prof. Imagawa’s research interests encompass liver, pancreas, bile ducts, gallbladder cancers, and islet cell transplantation.
He is a principal or co-investigator in 120 clinical trials and has published 130 peer-reviewed reports. He is also a specialist invited by prestigious professional journals to provide expert reviews of scientific articles.
In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Imagawa is a dedicated educator. He is a professor at the University of California, Irvine, and has trained many generations of surgeons.
